Use it or Lose it! See Better Now by Using 2008 FSA Dollars towards LASIK Surgery
FSA money can be used toward vision co rrection surgeries before end of year
Louisville, KY (Dec. 1, 2008) – With 2008 coming to a close, many employees are running out of time to use the money saved up in their Flexible Spending Accounts. FSA’s are one of the most versatile employee benefits but many are underutilized. Using the tax-free dollars in your FSA on LASIK or other vision correction surgeries can reduce your out-of-pocket costs by hundreds or thousands of dollars.
LASIK surgery and the new implantable contact lenses can improve your vision and offer the chance to live without the need for burdensome glasses or contact lenses. Many people choose to take advantage of their remaining FSA money at the end of the year by scheduling a complementary eye screening to see if they are a good candidate for the LASIK procedure.
"Traditionally December and January are our busiest LASIK periods as people take advantage of their flexible spending accounts", said Dr. Britt Brockman, a refractive and cataract specialist at the John-Kenyon American Eye Institute. "Flexible spending accounts are a great way to save money and get the same high quality LASIK procedure."
The John-Kenyon American Eye Institute offers advanced blade-free LASIK, Implantable Contact Lens Options as well as other laser vision correction procedures. Their experienced doctors used the same LASIK technology that is approved by NASA and the U.S. Military for their astronauts and pilots.
Many FSA programs allow employees to have the surgery in January as long as they complete pre-surgery testing in 2008. Contact your health plan administrator to learn more about your FSA program.
